Story
William James Radley was born, very poorly, on May 8th 2011. The first six weeks of his life were spent within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the John Radcliffe Hospital. He was cared for with such skill and dedication by the staff in the NICU that, against all the odds, he survived those first few days and weeks and became well enough to be transferred to Southampton General Hospital for heart surgery to prolong his life further.
Unfortunately William died on 29th September 2011, he was less than 5 months old.
William’s family will always be grateful to NICU, the fantastic team kept William alive and enabled him to spend some precious time with them and for them to see him smile. For this his family will always be eternally grateful.
In William’s memory I, along with several of my colleagues, will be completing a 100ft abseil down the side of the Women's Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This is to raise money for NICU to help other babies, just like William. Please, please donate to this wonderful cause and hopefully give many more families a chance to see their baby smile.
So please dig deep and sponsor my abseil attempt!
Thank you!!! x
