Great North Run 2020 Reimagined · 13 September 2020 ·

When an adult or child has been diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition, Havens Hospices can provide the care they need, ‘Making every day count’. Our specialist Care Teams can support them in the comfort of their own home and through our hospices, Fair Havens and Little Havens.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I promised my Dad that I would do the Great North Run again to raise money for Havens Hospice. So I’m doing this in his memory, with the hope of raising as much as I can for this wonderful, wonderful team.

So due to Covid19 the GNR has created an app this year to mimic a race format so that all runners start their own Great North Run at the same time at 10.30am on Sunday 13th September and complete the same 13.1 mile distance. Runners will be tracked throughout the race and will be able to view results after the race has finished. We can choose to run any route, so will probably incorporate the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as that always gives me inspiration. Will be weird running without 60'000 people but will have the most important one with me.

He is painfully missed by us all, but mostly by my incredible Mum after 65 years of marriage.
