DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal. We fund pioneering research and provide care and support to individuals and families living with EB.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the 2011 London Marathon on behalf of DebRA (www.debra.org.uk) a charity supporting sufferers of EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) and their families.

EB is a condition where skin and internal body linings blister at the slightest knock or rub and can be fatal.

My eldest son, Russell, was born in 1979 with the worst form of this condition and spent all of his short life in Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital where he died at the age of just over 2 months.

For me these events happened a long time ago but there are many sufferers and their families who need help now.  I know we are all living in difficult financial times but I would be extremely greatful if you feel able to donate even a small sum for this charity.

More information about the support and work that DebRA provides can be found on their website from the link above.
