Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I’m raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and I’d really appreciate your support.

I'm taking part in the Nicky's Whisper Challenge Trophy at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, 11th May. This is an All-Party Parliamentry FC Vs CF Trust Invitation Team with the likes of Gus Poyet, Ben Shephard, DJ Spoony, Angus Deayton, Alastair Campbell, Ray Wilkins and Iwan Thomas hopefully taking part.

Why have I chosen the Cystic Fibrosis Trust?    

Well, in September, 2009 my son Alec Wesley was born with CF so I decided to get off my backside and support the Trust which is vital in funding research to treat and see-off CF. I've already raised over £7000 along with 4 friends by running the Adidas 2010 Silverstone half-marathon but this subsequent event was too good an opportunity to pass.

About Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease. This event is held in memory of Nicky West who was a tireless ambassador for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Sadly Nicky lost her fight with CF in 2004, but before she died, she set up the Nicky's Whisper campaign to raise money for gene therapy. If successful, gene therapy will stop the development of the lung damage that claims 90% of the young lives that are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.

We are now at an exciting but critical time in the gene therapy programme and desperately need funds to ensure progress can continue. Although too late for Nicky, her spirit and determination remains an inspiration to us all.
