Hello! Thank you for visiting my just giving page!

As you are aware I am running the London Marathon (26.2 miles) on Sunday 13 April 2013. ..Crazy I know! But I have always wanted to run the marathon since I was little. So I decided to apply for it when the ballots came out and was accepted first time round, I was shocked! It is a rarity that you are accepted on your first application, so I feel incredibly lucky!  Training has already commenced and I am very excited to say that I am fundraising for Barnet Mencap (information about the charity is on the right)

Being a Learning Disability Nurse and having previously worked for Barnet Mencap I am very passionate about People with Learning Disabilities  and/or autism receiving high standards of healthcare. However I also know how important it is for people to experience many opportunities as possible to develop new skills, enjoy community based social activities and be much involved with their community. Having worked with Barnet Mencap I have seen the affect of the cuts first hand and it makes me very sad when I hear what has to be cut. So I know that every bit of fundraising will help go towards the amazing opportunities that Barnet Mencap provide with and for People with Learning Disabilities in the Borough of Barnet! Every little bit helps! J
