24hr Static Cycle Challenge 2014 · 1 December 2014 ·

Text Santa is ITV’s annual charity appeal, raising money and awareness for six UK based charities each year. Text Santa’s aim is to ‘Help Someone Near You’ by supporting charities who offer practical, tangible help to vulnerable people in the UK on a local and national level. Since 2011 we have raised £15 million for UK Charities. This years charities are: Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, WellChild, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alzheimer’s Society and Together for Short Lives.

Story

Thanks for visiting the KPMG audit team's fundraising page!

We have all, perhaps foolishly, agreed to take part in ITV's Static Cycle challenge as part of their Text Santa campaign on 1st December.  It's the launch for ITV's charity campaign, that not only tests teams in cycling for 24 hours, but also asks them to hit fundraising targets before and during the event.

The very worthwhile charities chosen by ITV this year are:

Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, Wellchild, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alzheimer's Society and Together For Short Lives

- some of which, I'm sure, have personal connections for everyone reading this.

Not only will the challenge test mental strength and physical stamina, but the team's ability to work together and pull through in times of need - the graveyard shifts at 3am, the regular sprint races throughout the night, taking turns to 'shine' while pedalling on This Morning, getting Mark off the bike to give others a chance...

This is also a televised race against teams entered from the likes of the London Fire Brigade, as well as other professional firms.  As all donations contribute to our ranking, it is so key that we get support early on, even if to save face from an onslaught of Big Four abuse if we fail to make the grade!

Any donations are of course welcome - we urge you to give whatever possible, however nominal in value, not just to the worthy charities below, but also to ensure that viewers nationwide are able to share and enjoy the televised spectacle that will be Directors, Senior Managers and our very own Partner riding against the clock.

Watch out for fundraising events organised by the team, and updates on our training to date!
