Team: TH96 DIY Run

In memory of Thomas Hardman

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

For Tom’s 30th birthday and as a follow on from the TH96 DIY Run, I will be aiming to complete 3000 miles in 300 days by either walking, running or cycling!

Tom Hardman was a popular young cricketer who played for clubs in Heywood and Middleton, as well as for Lancashire's 2nd XI, who sadly passed away in November 2012 from SADS (sudden arrhythmic death syndrome).
Tom's story has been shared far and wide and we hope that by continuing to host events such as this we can not only raise money to fund both much needed research and heart screenings but that we can also raise awareness.

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
