Since its formation in 2011/12, the Foundation has raised almost £2M for local charities, helping fund a renovation of Leicester Royal Infirmary’s Children’s Outpatient Ward and life-saving equipment desperately needed by the Children’s Intensive Care Unit.

Story

The Bangkok marathon is renowned as being one of the hardest marathons in the world, with 26.2 miles of heat and humidity. One runner descrinbed it as 'like running in an oven.'

On November the 18th 2012; Ian Stringer, BBC Radio Leicester Commentator and Richard Gamble, CEO Sports Chaplaincy UK will be taking on this challenge. However we will be joined together as we run it in a giant Leicester City Shirt.

The space inbetween us is for sale to our commercial friends, given previous experiences, we expect lots of positive PR:

"It is without doubt the bigggest physical challenge I have taken on in my life, to get fit, run in hostile conditions and do this all attached to Stringer in a giant shirt, it is probably biting off more than I can chew!!" - Richard.

"The fine work carried out by both excellent charities coupled with the opportunity to run in the Leicester City owners' hometown marathon, makes this challenge a attractive proposition (forget the pain) - Ian
