Thanet Food Link exists to link those in Thanet who have enough to those in need. With the support of generous donors, many local churches, and organisations such as supermarkets, we want to ensure no-one goes hungry.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all this year, and we have regrettably seen an increase in the number of individuals and families struggling to feed themselves, resulting in an increased demand for food parcels.  The increase has been phenomenal, with average monthly demand for parcels increasing by 300% and at its peak this reached 540%!

Whilst Thanet Food Link relies on food donations from generous donors in the community, the increased demand has meant that at times additional food has had to be purchased to support those in need, resulting in increased costs for the charity, which is non-profit making.

In order to raise additional funds, this year we are launching our Giftmas Cards campaign, where we invite you to donate to our JustGiving page instead of writing and sending Christmas cards.  We will use money donated to buy essential items for our food parcels, as well as Christmas "extras" for inclusion in our bags, i.e. chocolates, children's selection boxes and sweets, luxury biscuits, cakes etc. 

By donating to Thanet Food Link your money will do so much more than pieces of paper on the mantlepiece and will really link you to those in need!
