Story

Hi guys, I have signed up to take on Zipline: Dare to Fly, which will see me fly the world's fastest zipline, reaching speeds of over 100MPH! I’m doing it for a couple of reasons, mainly to raise money for Penny Appeal‘s Emergency Response programmes.

Penny Appeal’s cause is really important to me and my family and I want to enable their goals and help the people they are helping. I’m fundraising to help people who are facing crisis, war and displacement and to help protect and save thousands of families from the devastating effects of natural disasters and conflict. War, famine, disease, poverty & climate change have immobilised communities in Myanmar, Syria, Yemen, Gaza, Indonesia and East Africa, and Penny Appeal need your support to be able to deploy life-saving medical aid, food, clothing, sanitation and shelter to those who've been left incredibly vulnerable. It would mean a lot to have your support, so please follow my journey and donate as much or as little as you can.Thank you!

Secondly, I’m doing this for my mum. Although I’m not hugely spiritual, I believe that when someone passes away, their good deeds are what take them to heaven. But carrying out good deeds come to an end once you die and so God will accept three types of good deeds after ones death which are essentially carried out by your loved ones. One of the ways to do this is to donate money in the name of the person we have lost. Some of you may know that my amazing mum passed away in October. And although we are devastated and heartbroken, my family and I have been doing well. We’ve been feeding the poor and helping the mosques in Bangladesh and donating to various causes where we can. And now, my sister and I will be riding a zip wire across the Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales to raise money to support the Penny Appeal.

I’m petrified of heights, and lead a very safe life away from any possible physical pain. But my mum was outrageously brave and I don’t really remember anything scaring her, and I know that she would have found this hilarious and would have encouraged us to do it - if anything, for her own amusement. ❤️

I hope you all can donate, but if not, I think I’ll try and record my dismount and share it with you - I know some of you will find it amusing.
