Raised £702 on the Auction tonight, waiting for money to be paid in.Let's hope we raise even more on Sunday 4 @TheBHF

On January 17th we are holding a memorial fun basketball fundraiser at Brightlingsea Sports centre from 10 – 3pm in memory of Richard ‘Ginge’ Simon, who sadly died suddenly a year ago from acute heart failure. We are running this silent auction parallel to the memorial fun basketball fundraiser where winning prizes will be presented to attending winners.

Ginge had never smoked, rarely drank and played basketball at least 2 times a week. Acute heart failure strikes without warning, tearing families apart. But with your money raised from this auction in aid of The British Heart Foundation it will help fund research can that can help keep more people alive.

For those that didn't know this larger than life Yorkshireman, Ginge  lived in Clacton, strong ties to Brightlingsea for over 20 years and known throughout East Anglia and beyond for his work with youth basketball, Suffolk basketball league and his career as a DJ.  He was the life and sole of the party and if you met him you wouldn’t forget this larger than life Yorkshireman. His passing has left a hole in the community.

Every pound raised and every minute of your time will help make a massive difference to people's lives. Join the fight for every heartbeat.
