I had breast cancer in 2008 and had successful treatment with surgery to remove the tumour followed by radiotherapy.

All has been well for 18 years ………. Then …..

April 2026 after a routine mammogram a new cancer was found in the same breast. A primary recurrence. Within a week I had a full CT scan and a bone scan. I had a plastic surgery consultation.

Then on 13 May I had surgery. A mastectomy of the right breast with immediate reconstruction. A big surgery with a slow snd steady recovery.

I am doing really well, getting stronger every day. My amazing husband Jon and daughter Phoebe have been amazing.

I am holding this afternoon tea in August, to support Breast Cancer Now. Jon is also supporting by cycling 205 miles “Chase the Sun” in June.
