Story

Monday, 23 January
11:00-14:00

The Great TBS Bake-Off is back! And this time, there’s a theme…

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, The Building Society is hosting another round of our popular Bake-Off competition, raising money once again for our chosen charity for 2023; The Soup Kitchen at the American International Church in Fitzrovia. Our last Bake-Off in October 2022 raised over £200 for the Soup Kitchen. We’d love to continue that success in the new year!

The event will take place on Monday 23 January in both our Fitzrovia and Wimbledon locations. All Members of The Building Society are invited to take part, whether as a baker or taste tester!

All forms of baking are welcome; fun ideas, flavours, and decorations are encouraged. Bakes will be scored on design, technical skill and – of course! – taste, and should reference the theme of Lunar New Year in some way, for example: the moon, red and gold colours, the year of the rabbit.

You can get a team together to showcase your baking and teamwork skills or enter as an individual to take all the glory – it’s up to you!

As before, there’ll be prizes for the winners in each judging category, as well as an overall star baker prize!

Entry fee: £5 per entry (team or individual), 100% of which will be donated to The Soup Kitchen at the American International Church.

And if you’re not a baker, you can still get involved as a judge – cakes will be on sale in the breakout areas in both Fitzrovia and Wimbledon from 11am – 2pm. There will be voting cards for our taste testers to cast their vote and have a say in who is crowned the winner!

To sign up or find out more, contact info@thebuildingsociety.org or speak to Reception at The Building Society.

Let’s get baking!
