Story

Never in a million years did I think it would happen to me.I will never forget the day I found the lump! I just felt it and knew. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end and I froze.

9th August 2021 was the day my whole life changed again!.  I had a diagnosis.  I had breast cancer.  My family and I were now on the receiving end of cancer and Macmillan have been there for us so much.   How can this happen?. I already had a heart condition that is needing an operation why have I had to deal with this too? So many times I did say it was unfair, many tears and sleepless nights.  I found help with my family but also with Macmillan

I would really like to raise as much money as I can for Macmillan so they are able to help others at a time when their whole world falls apart.  Getting a cancer diagnosis meant to me that work had to stop, and of course then financial worries start. It something you are never prepared for.  You play the waiting game constantly for appointments and your life evolves round this. I found the  Macmillan website and the forum, the ladies in there were fab, and I didn’t feel silly for the way I was feeling, the support was phenomenal.

To keep this help going they need donations, so myself and my daughter are going to walk the Macmillan Norfolk  Coast Mighty Hike Marathon, 26.2 miles  hike to help raise much needed funds.

I am so thankful for those that have helped and donated before to Macmillan as this meant I had the chance to get help from them, More and more people are being diagnosed with cancer and they deserve the help and support I got,  we need to keep it going.  So let’s keep paying it forwards, please help us raise as much as we can . Everybody who needs help and support at a time in their life where they feel so lost and all hope is gone should get it.  Your donations help so much.

This is a challenge and something to aim for, It will be hard as I am still in chemotherapy which is due to end in January  and then I have a load of radiotherapy.  I feel if I can get through all of this I can hike, with my darling daughter,  26.2 miles.  As most of you know I have ran this distance but I did a lot of training and was at peak fitness. My daughter is wanting to do this with me too, she has her own injuries to carry around but is determined that she wants to do this with me, she has been helping me to keep going from the start of my cancer journey, This time round I won’t have done as much training but I am hoping I will have beaten cancer and that being the case I can do anything.  xx
