Midnight Walk 2018 · 22 June 2018 ·
Firstly thank you for visiting our Ennis Zeller Angel's team page and thank you to the lovely ladies who are joining me on the walk as a team in supporting St.Lukes.
As many of you will know over the past two years I sadly lost my Mum in April 2016, Dad in September 2017 and my husband Colin in April 2018, each one of them were cared for by the amazing staff at St. Lukes Hospice in Kenton.
Now it’s time for me to raise money and to give something back to this wonderful place. My team and I will be doing the 9 mile Midnight Walk on Friday 22nd June.
I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at St Lukes who care for people nearing end of life, without feeling completely emotional and blessed for having them look after not only my family but also for the support they gave me, other family members and friends at such difficult times.
I have to be honest I really did not know much about the hospice when I first went with Mum in 2016 but now they feel like my extended family, all of them knowing me by name and always with a kind word.
To name but a few, Tonya Canino (my guardian angel) I was so blessed to have this amazing palliative nurse attached to my Mum, Dad and Colin, I could not have gotten through this without her, she deserves an award for her selflessness and the care she gives. Dr. Clare again with all three she was amazing and so kind to me. Martin, what can I say this caring lovely young man goes above and beyond the call of duty every day, as do all the team on a daily basis, Mary, Donna, Miriam, Magda, Jenny, Tracy, Sophie, Lynette and Rachel to name but a few, apologies if I have not named you all but you are all incredible people.
Without these special people I would not have been able to cope with these awful times and it is with great pleasure I want to give something back.
Any donations we can raise will help other families to receive care for their relatives and loved ones which they so deserve as Mum, Dad and Colin did. The nurses and carers at St. Lukes shine light and hope with their care and expertise and make it all that little more bearable, without them I don’t know where I would be.
