We provide specialist palliative care to people with life-limiting illnesses

Story

Cancer has no borders.  It doesn't discriminate against age, race, sex or religion.  Almost everybody has been touched by cancer in some shape or form.  And for those families affected Hospices provide treatment, solace and comfort, not to mention countless cups of coffee at 3am!

My father was treated in the NI Hospice on Somerton Road by what can only be described as angels.  People who see working in the Hospice as a calling, something more than a job, a vocation.  On the 8th May 2017 when my father passed away, the staff had become a part of our family.

The NI Hospice cares for 3,500 babies, children and adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families each year.  Demand on the Hospice services increases every year.  Whilst care is free to the patient, it is not free to provide.  The NI Hospice relies heavily on support and public donations.

It costs in excess of £9,000,000 per year to run the NI Hospice care services and the charity relies on voluntary income.

Our aim is to visit 16 cancer centres throughout Europe in 14 days, hopefully raising £10,000 in the process, raising the awareness of the part Hospices play in the battle against cancer and showing that cancer does not stop at a border.

If you can help, every penny helps these selfless people continue the care and treatment they provide every day of the year.
