Story

What is the Ho Chi Minh Trail Challenge?

Virginia and Clive cycled hundreds of miles across one of the world’s most heavily bombed mountain ranges on earth, starting on 30 March and finishing on 9 April 2015.They did half the cycling each so there was always one parent to look after the children.

Why the British Heart Foundation? Clive had a quadruple bypass operation in 2013 and thanks to the good work of the British Heart Foundation they can all enjoy a family life for many years to come. They would like others to benefit.

Why and what isthe Ho Chi Minh Trail? Virginia is a security and defence analyst. Clive was in the parachute regiment and is now both an architectural photographer and a construction manager. In the late 1990s they became the first westerners in peacetime to walk the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos. They wrote a book on their experience and were married along the Trail in 2005. The Trail was the North Vietnamese logistical supply line during the Vietnam War.
