Fundraising to date
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page! Since 2020 we have raised over £1000 a year to support CICRA. In January this year, my son and I ran a Virtual Marathon and raised £400 for CICRA. This meant running 25 runs of over a mile during January! Thank you to everyone who sponsored us.
In May 2025 we held our (now annual!) plant sale. Previous years have been successful thanks to huge support from our local community, friends and family… !

Why and how we raise funds for CICRA
As a family we have benefited from Crohn's in Childhood Research Association (CICRA) since our son was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2018. CICRA support research, provide information for families and provide national events that allow for families to network and to meet consultants and academics undertaking groundbreaking research. Their array of freely available resources allow families and children's teachers to understand a child's symptoms and side effects of the drugs they may be taking.
There is currently no cure for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, including Crohn's.
In 2020, we held a plant sale from the safety of our front garden during the first lock down. In 2021 we teamed up with 5 other houses in Quainton to open up our gardens and sell plants. With our wonderful village community, we raised £800 despite the weather and a further £170 in plant sales! (We note most donations as offline donations to this page so the entire total is recorded.)
We have kept up the momentum and since then we have continued to run a community plant sale each spring, raising money from donations, recycling (we are a printer cartridge recycling point), ebay sales and other initiatives.
If you can help, it will benefit a truly terrific charity undertaking vital work! Thank you.
