Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only national charity dedicated solely to beating pancreatic cancer through research. Survival rates are low, so new research is vital. In the past, this cancer received little attention. With your help, we can change this so more people beat pancreatic cancer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As many of you will know, Mandy has moved on to her next life following her short and inspirational battle against this terrible illness. She has inspired so many of us and we want to continue her legacy. During her fight with cancer, we realised we knew very little about pancreatic cancer. When we did our research we found out the following facts that surprised us:

- Forty years ago few children survived childhood leukaemia. Now the survival rate is 80%.

- Forty years ago only 46% of women diagnosed with breast cancer survived five years or more. Now that figure is also 80%.

- Forty years ago 3% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survived five years of more. That figure is still 3%.

Throughout Mandy's life she has made so many of us believe the impossible is possible and made us realise that love, family and living life to the full are the most important things we can do.

Whilst Mandy is no longer with us, we are determined that her incredible spirt for life continues and want to do everything we can to support the fight into this unknown illness so that it can change others lives just like she has changed ours.

Any support you can give would be hugely appreciated

Lots of love
