The Music Suite Presents High Society · 23 March 2019
Music can help us connect, collaborate and care for each other. This suggests that, if we want to have a more harmonious society, we would do well to continue to include music in our - and our children’s - lives. With that in mind we are happy to announce that proceeds for High Society on the 23rd March will be going to fund and organise a music workshop for the children at Avondale Park School in West London, later this year.
Avondale Park is an aspirational, inclusive and vibrant two-form entry school serving a multi-ethnic community in the heart of North Kensington. The Head Teacher, Katy Blackler and the staff strive to believe that the children are entitled to the highest quality teaching, an ambitious and exciting curriculum, a stimulating learning environment and a safe and caring place in which learning is of the highest quality.
The school motto being: to, ‘Dream, Believe and Achieve’ reflects the drive for every child to achieve their very best not only academically but also as a young person in the community.
The school backdrop is of the Grenfell tower with its tall disguised structure, looming over the community. On 14th June 2017, the devastation of the tower directly affected the school. Some of the families escaped that night, others sadly didn’t. They lost a member of staff, children that they taught along with their families. Each and every one of those they lost, will be forever in their hearts.
