Story
We all work at the National Animal Welfare Trust Clacton's Rescue and Rehoming Centre either directly caring for abandoned and homeless cats and dogs or working behind the scenes. We are all united in our love of animals and we want to continue to be able to take in, care for, bring back to good health and find forever homes for cats and dogs in their time of need.
This Sunday (26th April) would have seen animal care assistant, Sarah Morton take part in the London Marathon in a bid to raise money for the very animals she helps to care for, but with her challenge of a lifetime temporarily on hold due to the CoronaVirus, the team decided to join forces to take part in the ‘Save the UK’s Charities’ 2.6 Challenge.
The aim of the challenge is to take on an activity based around the number 26 and 2.6 to raise funds for charities struggling due to the virus - that's us!
So we - the NAWT Clacton team - will be donning our Lycra on Sunday and jumping on board a static exercise bike to pedal a total of 26 km's between us. We hope you will get behind us (not to give us a push, but to donate!)
And because we know how much you all love seeing the cats and dogs in need of a forever home, we've not left them out of our fundraising efforts - after all, any money raised will go back into their care and treatment. So throughout Sunday we’re going to be sharing 6 videos each lasting 2.6 minutes and each featuring one of our superstar cats or dogs. It’s their time to take centre stage and shine and we hope you’ll show your appreciation by making a donation, no matter how small, you will be making a difference!
Thank you
