Story
The Electric Ball for 13-15 year olds has been running for 10 years and raises a substantial amount of money to support The NSPCC's Childline. Thanks to your support and our dedicated Committee, our Electric Ball events have now raised over £450,000!
After selling out almost instantly last year, resulting in many disappointed teens, we have decided to run 2 consecutive parties for school year 9 on 8th April and school year 10 on 9th April at Embargo Republica Nightclub, Kings Road, London SW10. Both parties combined will host 900 teenagers!
Last year we raised just under £50,000 for Childline but this year with 2 parties and it being the Electric Ball’s 10th anniversary, we are hoping to double that number as sadly the number of vulnerable children using this invaluable service is rising on a daily basis. On average a child contacts Childline every 25 seconds and last year the Childline website received 3.5 million visits. Currently only 3 out of 4 children calling Childline manage to speak to a Counsellor. The NSPCC therefore desperately needs more resources to train up additional Counsellors to meet the increasing demand.
An example of one of the campaigns that Childline is currently running relates to loneliness. Click here to view their Day in the Lonely Campaign: Day in the Lonely | Childline - YouTube
The ticket prices alone do not get us to this figure so we will be running an online auction from 3 April to 10 April (details to follow), a Raffle on the night and we are hoping to receive some additional donations. Every donation, however large or small, makes so much difference to the amount we raise for this invaluable service.
We thank you for your continued support.
