The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

We are so grateful at home to have what we have right now and wanted to do something to help others who are suffering in the lockdown.

Captain Tom - who has raised over 30 million so far in his campaign - inspired us to take action. We were also moved by an article Laura found in the Week Junior describing how hundreds of children are taking up the 2.6 Challenge (or 26 Challenge) to raise funds for a charity, since the (26 mile) London Marathon is not taking place this year and many charities would be losing out on a big chunk of their fundraising efforts.

Many charities are finding the lockdown crisis crippling financially; we have chosen to support Restore Mental Health. Restore is a local Oxford charity Laura has worked with before so she has seen the amazing holistic care and support they give to restore people to better mental health.

At this moment, good mental health is perhaps more important than ever before. We all know someone who is affected. At least 1 in 4 suffer at some point in their lives with the illness. Restore need our help to help those people. Many key workers are still working in the mental health sector. They are complete heroes, as are so many others putting themselves on the line.

This is the least we can do.

We opted for a non-stop physical challenge over 26 minutes: Isla trampolining, Lana swimming in a bath full of stuffed toys (obviously), Laura running on the spot, doing star jumps and strenuous circuit training, and Rob battling his way though as many sit ups as possible

If you can spare a few quid, we'd be really grateful. It will go to a good place.
