Story
Zofia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in
February 2016 which affects the white blood cells and bone marrow. The cancer progressed very quickly and was aggressive.
After her first weeks in hospital, we were able to go back
home where we received help and support from The Sussex
Snowdrops Trust. The nurses visited us on regular basis for blood tests. It was so reassuring to be able to call any of the nurses 7 days a week if we had any problems or doubts. We were very very scared during this time and we received loads of emotional support from all the nurses.
The team are always smiling and they made sure that all of us could get the support we needed.
As a family we also went to some events that were organised by the charity such as a trip to the Weald and Downlands and a Christmas party. This meant so much to us to have a treat and spend happier times together.
Zofia is now stronger and her hair has grown really long. She would like to donate it to other children who may have lost their hair and need a wig so her long ponytail will go to The Little Princess Trust.
We want to raise money for The Sussex Snowdrop Trust as they have helped us so much through Zofia's treatment.
