Story

After many years of fundraising, Team Hatch has already raised over £825,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, in loving memory of Emma Rose.   But we are in no way done!  In fact we are so desperate to get to our Target of £1million, to fund essential research and services at GOSH, that we have decided to take on possibly our greatest triathlon challenge to day - IRONMAN LANZAROTE 2022 - known as "the toughest in the world".  A 3.8km Sea Swim with added jelly fish, brutal winds for the 180km bike to make the relentless climbing even more painful (all 2424m of it) and 30 degree heat for the marathon.   Four intrepid humans are racing  (Hatch, Ben, Jamie and Steve) supported by Amy, a team veteran, who is in charge of keeping the team on track and making sure the guys hit both the start and the finish lines!!!  This race is a matter of survival not PBs.

The race takes place on Saturday 21st May from 07:10 a.m. (Lanzarote is the same time zone as the UK)  Note: it is going to be a LONG DAY so if you want to track on the Ironman App there will be plenty of opportunity to do so - also live updates throughout the day @team_hatch on Instagram
