Story
I've been an avid Sheffield Wednesday fan for all of my life.
I've had a season ticket for over 13 years, travelled near and far to watch them play, and seen my weekends made or broken after games against Sheffield United.
So it would take something miraculous for me to ever consider not only putting on a full United kit, but also playing at Bramall Lane.
It was when my future Father in Law - who happens to be a United fan - was diagnosed with prostate cancer that I thought of the idea.
Having done some research, I discovered Football Aid, a charity that lets fans bid to play for 'their' club in their home stadium. From here, I placed a bid to play for Sheffield United and was successful, so am now committed to representing my rival...Urgh...
I figured that even though it will pain me to undergo my task for charity, cancer puts life in perspective, and realistically, what I am doing will only be a minor discomfort in comparison.
So I'm putting on my boots, getting fit, and going undercover for a worthy cause.
Follow the journey of me, the undercover owl..
*please note - my fee to participate in Football Aid will go to a worthy charity of their choice, whereas all donations acquired from myself from this point on will go to Prostate Cancer UK.
