Story
We are a bunch of work colleagues united in our goal to raise funds for Dementia UK. All of us have experienced a family member or friend struggle with dementia and a number of the team have also recently seen the retirement of a colleague with early on set dementia.
It is a devastating disease to both live with and observe in others and the pandemic has been especially tough for those living with dementia and their families.
On 16th September we plan to cycle the Shakespeare Way, starting from The Globe Theatre on the south bank of the River Thames and finishing at Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford Upon Avon, over 150 miles in 3 days.
The challenge is all about raising money for Dementia UK to help fund Admiral Nurses who provide an invaluable single clinical point of contact to support individuals and families through the stages of dementia.
It’s time to “make much ado” about something very important. Please donate as much or as little as you can to get this bunch of predominantly non-cyclists into lycra, on their bikes and to the finish point. With some exceptions, “truth is as a team we have seen better days” that makes it more of a challenge!!
Every penny of the money pledged will go directly to Dementia UK, there are no expenses and there is no service charge being made by Just Giving.
