Story
Thank you for visiting our JustGiving Page.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and today 10 children and young people will hear the news that they have cancer.
CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, they are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.
I decided to take the £170 Challenge for CLIC Sargent with the support of some of my amazing work colleagues. £170 is the grant CLIC Sargent gives to families after a child is diagnosed with cancer, to stop unexpected costs being a burden.
My late brother was diagnosed with cancer at aged 10, and after losing a leg to amputation and rigorous chemotherapy, CLIC Sargent got in touch with my family, and gave us support and a lovely trip away to their Home from Home in Glasgow as he recovered.
Being personally affected by cancer, I know first hand how much difference the support makes especially to morale through one of lifes toughest battles, especially for children who may not really understand what is going on.
If you’d like to make a donation to CLIC Sargent I’d be very grateful, as it will help them provide clinical and practical support to ease the burden of childhood cancer. Thank you.
