Story

"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Oh yeah... we're back for more... Get ready for another 100kms of epic hilarity as The Soundtracks, this time the re-mixed 2010 version, take on Oxfam's Trailwalker Japan again. New and old members collide plus the greatest support team in the world, which has the delightful job of dealing with our tantrums from start to finish.
This is no silent disco. We're cranking up the 80's tunes, throwing in some punk, with a dash of our underground faves and a whole lot of Dolly Parton to somehow hurl ourselves and all our stuff over 7 massive mountains. All for charity. All in the spirit of giving. Who knows what will come on the ipod next? And we couldn't, wouldn't, won't do it without our fabulous Soundtrack fans.

Yep, we're THE SOUNDTRACKS Remixed... Dee, Trace, Erin, Emma, Nat and friends... 'cause we all know, in life you've got to have one. A soundtrack that is. Whether yours is punk inspired, emo, rocking out, a bit of Richard Clayderman, dodgy top 40, or the music from Fame all wrapped in legwarmers...you've just got to move with music in your soul and some funky dance moves in your life.

It's not going to be pretty. We know that. Oxfam Trailwalkers is a growing global phenomenon, now with events all over the world (9 in 2010). We're dragging ourselves over the toughest of them - a grueling 100km course - from Odawara to Yamanako-ko, through Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, over more than 7 mountains, up and over the Yozoku Pass, past Mt Fuji - all in under 48 hours. Our goal is 40....hmmm...we'll see.

So don't you just want to be a part of all this insanity from wherever you are in the world? Help us raise a a little money for Oxfam to overcome poverty and injustice for those less fortunate than ourselves in some of the poorest communities in the world. And be a part of The Soundtracks 100ks of tantrums, tears, melt downs and positively fabulous moments. Donating through this Justgiving page is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Oxfam Trailwalker Japan gets your donations faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Sponsor us now, in anyway you can, and be a part of something life-changing. For us all.

You can follow all our preparation, training, dramas, mantras, support team chaos, and what to wear dilemma's on our SOUNDTRACKS BLOG - TWJ 2010.

So with the words of Lao Tzu ringing in our ears, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" we embark upon our journey of 100kms with disco shoes on our feet and music in our hearts. We will climb every mountain.  With your support we can do this.

Thanks so much. We're your biggest fans,
Dee, Trace, Erin, Emma, Nat and friends xxx
