PLEASE HELP OUR JULY APPEAL TO SECURE FUNDING FOR DRAMA and THEATRE WORKSHOPS FOR OUR CLIENTS

Currently, 140 people who rely upon a carer come to Homelink each week so that we can take care of them for a day which enables their carer to have a regular break - time to recharge their batteries and be free for a short time of their caring responsibilities.

Two-thirds of the people that come to us have a dementia diagnosis or memory problem. When they visit Homelink, we put all our energies into creating an atmosphere of care, support and fun. Clients are able to join in with as much or as little as they can or want to and we work hard to offer a varied programme so that there is something for everyone.  Activities include art, craft, gardening, music, discussion groups, cookery, gardening, quizzes and games.

Recently we have worked on six occasions with the fantastic charity Dramatize who have visited us to run drama and theatre workshops.  The clients have absolutely loved it and got so much from these sessions.  Having fun is one of the best medicines available!

We would like to work with Dramatize on a regular basis so that more of our clients can benefit from their workshops and ideally, we would like the sessions to take place twice a week for the coming year which would benefit so many of our clients.
