It is estimated that by 2025, the number of people in the UK with dementia will exceed 1 million.

It would be hard to find anyone who has not been affected either directly or indirectly by dementia. As Individuals we have all had family and friends who have suffered from this awful illness.

As keen footballers, recent studies showing that footballers are at a greater risk of developing neurological illnesses later in life has opened our eyes to the need for increased funding for this charity. This allows the charity to complete further studies and research in all fields and activities in order to introduce measures to reduce the risks and chances of getting this illness.

We plan to climb the UK's 10 highest mountains in a single weekend for  Alzheimer’s Society. The event will be undertaken in August with an exact date to be confirmed nearer the time to allow for changing weather conditions.

Supporting this charity allows Alzheimer’s Society to continue to support patients and their families and friends who are living with these diseases as well as funding future research to help find a cure!

In Scotland, all mountains over 3000FT are known as Munros. 

A full schedule and list of participants will be added to the page once confirmed with the only definite being the completion of the challenge by climbing the UK's tallest mountain Ben Nevis on Sunday evening. In between, we will be walking roughly 50 miles and climbing around 18,000 feet.
