On Saturday 10th July 2021, I’ll embark on what I have named.. ‘The Big Cycle’... as for me, it’s BIG - pretty massive in fact .. it has taken many hours and hundreds of miles of training to get to this point. Land’s End to John o’Groats. From the bottom of the UK to the very top. It’s an epic challenge of over 1,000 miles through 3 countries and countless counties.. over 14 consecutive days - averaging 75 miles a day and 4000 feet of elevation - that’s quite a lot of hills.  It’s a challenge I have wanted to fulfil for years, and now, after the year we’ve had, it felt right....

Why..? Personal achievement, BUT.. another great opportunity to raise some funds for a charity that is very close to my heart..

Fourteen years ago (21st March 2007)  my mum lost her long battle against breast cancer.  She had done some great work in helping to raise funds for the charity that was very important to her – Breast Cancer Now, and I am continuing this in her absence.

Since then I have raised £21,357 for Breast Cancer Now via various marathons, triathlons, bike rides and concerts. Mainly through generous donations from everyone I know!! THANK-YOU... but, it’s been a few years since I’ve managed any charity worthy events.. so, if you are able to donate some ££ this year.. it would help make this ride all that more special.

A while ago I had the opportunity of visiting the charities research centre in London, the UK’s first facility dedicated solely to breast cancer. With over 70 of the world’s best cancer research scientists, the work they are doing is fantastic, and continues to improve diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

The statistics for breast cancer are horrifying, and this charity is fighting to help, but greatly needs more funds.

If you could possibly spare any money - and sponsor me for my ongoing fundraising work – it would be fantastic, and help me to continue what my mum started.
