Story
Following the success of my recent Big Stitch of Van Gogh's The Starry Night, raising over £2000 for Hull Foodbank, I'll be doing it all again next year!
Between 1 January and 31 December 2022, I'll be cross stitching Alphonse Mucha's The Four Seasons, once again to raise money for Hull Foodbank.
At nearly 120,000 stitches, it's another big piece, which will measure ca. 33 x 18 inches (84 x 45 cm) and will take me over 1000 hours to complete.
As part of this Big Stitch, I'm also hoping to build in one 24-hour stint of stitching and to do some stitching in public places.
I have chosen to fundraise for Hull Foodbank again because, although I really wish foodbanks weren't needed, I fear they're unlikely to become surplus to requirements any time soon.
Once I've completed the piece, I will frame it and sell it to the highest bidder, and the proceeds will be added to the total. More info about how you can make a bid nearer the time.
I'll be posting regular updates of my progress on twitter @mirandamvr and on my FB page 'The Big Four Seasons Stitch'.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you're able to sponsor me :)
