The Big Virtual Challenge · 4 November 2020 to 31 December 2020 ·

Weston Hospicecare provides expert end-of-life care, free of charge, to people with life-limiting illnesses. Our goal is people can live as well as they can, for as long as they can; we help them feel like family and friends again, not just patients and carers.

Story

Some of you may be aware that Weston Hospicecare were there for our family friend James (Dex) and his family, providing vital end of life care and support in his final weeks prior to him sadly passing away in March 2019.

Weston Hospicecare were really wonderful to James and his family through the support given and it's absolutely vital that their services are continued to allow others to receive the same amazing support and care. With the current ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, key areas of normal funding and income for charities such as Weston Hospicecare are fundraisers and public events, which through enforced social restrictions and with lockdown, most have had to be cancelled. With 80% of their funding coming from fundraising (through the community), it's easy to appreciate how much this will impact and cause financial strain!

To help in some small way, I am taking on their 'The Big Virtual Challenge' and tackling the 'Monster Marathon', which is to run 100 miles in 4 weeks (throughout lockdown) and with it, hopefully through your kind donations :), I'm looking to raise vital funds to help reduce the risks to the key services Weston Hospicecare provide.

Sincere thanks in advance for any donations that you are able to make!
