Paul's Cancer Support Centre based in Battersea provides information and support, complementary therapies, groups and courses for anyone affected by cancer.

Story

Like so many, Charlie and I have seen dearest friends and family face the vicious illness that is cancer.

We've witnessed our loved ones fight the disease together with all those around them. Tragically, some of those battles have been lost and we're raising money in memory of Sammy Johns, a truly beautiful person, who is missed by so many every day.  We are also raising money in the names of those who have found a way to win the war. Those like Kevin Culliney, who has overcome Stage IV colon cancer with the endless drive and energy of his wife Olga, and also both of Charlie’s wonderful parents, David and Jossie. Their collective bravery in facing this horrible disease has been truly awe inspiring for all of their friends and family.

We are raising money for Pauls' Cancer Support Centre. Paul’s is a fantastic charity that provides crucial support to those whose lives are impacted by cancer. They gave invaluable help to Sammy in some of her darkest hours and we want to do our part to help them continue their amazing work.

The event we are undertaking is pretty brutal. It involves a 1.35km open water swim, which for James is about 1.34km further than he has ever swam before. The 25km, 9,000ft of gain and loss across the seven Munroes follows, before an 11km kayak and finally a 50km bike stint. It is one the most brutal events in the calendar but we are training incredibly hard, much to the chagrin of our other halves, and hope to complete the event within 11hrs 30mins.

Please support us. Every penny will make such a difference to the charity, and to us in spurring us along, through the training and on the day itself. Thank you.
