Story

THE CONFERENCE PEOPLE IS 25 – and raising as much money as possible for a Charity very close to our hearts.... Eastbourne Mencap.

Robert Enefer started The Conference People in 1986 – and we’ve been incredibly successful over the years.  In this our 25th year – we’re turning our talents to raising as much money as possible for a very special charity, and the launch of Eastbourne Mencap’s £2.7million fundraising programme for the development at Sedgemoor and Framley Houses in Mill Road, Eastbourne.  Philip, Robert's brother, who is 59 years old and has Down Syndrome is cared for and lives in an Eastbourne Mencap home.  Robert recently became a director of Eastbourne Mencap and has been amazed by the whole organisation – it’s so many things, great planning and organisation, wonderful care of their residents and amazing people working in the four homes and day centre called ‘The Hive of Activity’…. and believe us it really is!

So – what are we doing?  We’re asking you to donate £25.00 – just £25.00.  That donation will enter you into our fabulous Free Hotel Weekend Giveaway!  We’ve sourced 100 weekends with hotels all over the UK and Europe and giving you the chance to enjoy a mini-break!  Of course, you can donate more if you like, as its for such a good cause!
