Story

We have decided that the only time at the moment we get to do anything is when the little ones are in bed…so on Saturday 19 May will be embarking on a Midnight walk of 8 miles around Exmouth, in 80s fancy dress. We realise that it isn't adrenaline filled...but it does involve a sacrifice...that of precious sleep! And in Vickys case the need to overcome a loathing of dressing-up. And is for a very good cause.

As some of you may know in September 2011 Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Over the last year through operations, Chemo and Radiotherapy the Hospice nearby have been invaluable. She has had great advice from caring nurses, free complementary massages (and for Dad too as a carer) and volunteers for the Hospice drove her back and forth to Exeter for her radiotherapy appointments. Support from Hospiscare has also included emotional support and reassurance about drug therapies and side effects, and suggested home remedies and self-help based on experience; which the medical profession just don't provide.

We’d like to show our appreciation by making sure these services are available to others local to mum, whether they be in her position or for any other illness.

We’re after small donations – as we know people are barraged every day for lots of worthwhile causes.
Photos of us, in fancy dress will be circulated following the walk. Good job it’s in the dark!
