Story

How do everyone!

I’ve decided to take the plunge and enter the Great North Run in 2019. I’m running on behalf of RSPCA’s Team Animal, to raise much needed funds in the fight against animal cruelty.

Why have I decided to run?

Last July, I found out that I had Type 2 Diabetes and tipped the scales at 24 stone. I knew that I had to change my lifestyle through diet & exercise. As a result, I’ve now caught the running bug and have gone from a Couch Potato in October to running 5km by Christmas and 10km by February.

The half marathon is the next stage of my progression and I thought if I’m going to make a big leap, then do it for a worthwhile cause.

I’ve chosen the RSPCA as whilst I don’t have any pets myself at the moment, I love animals! I’ve owned dogs in the past and me & my wife love going to zoos on a regular basis.

The very thought of animal cruelty is something I find rather harrowing and we as a society should do what we can to support the efforts made by RSPCA Inspectors, Staff & volunteers to save animals in desperate need of our help.

All donations count! Little and large! If you are able to donate to this very worthwhile cause, I’d absolutely love it!

Thank You for your Support!
