OPERATING IN THE NORTH EAST, THE CRUELTY HOTSPOT OF ENGLAND SINCE 1896. THE CHARITY CARES FOR THOUSANDS OF LOST, UNWANTED, ABANDONED, ABUSED & NEGLECTED ANIMALS EVERY YEAR. WHEN IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO REUNITE ANIMALS WITH THEIR OWNERS, OR THEY ARE UNWANTED THE CHARITY FINDS LOVING NEW HOMES.

Story

It's that time of the year again where we dust off our running shoes and tackle the Great North Run!

Last year - thanks to your help - we raised an incredible £530 for the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter. This year we would love to do the same! We were (and still are!) extremely grateful for all of your kindness and support and we would really appreciate any donations towards our 2023 goal, no matter the amount!

Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter was established in 1896 and helps thousands of lost, unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned animals every year. The shelter's objective is the promotion of kindness and prevention of cruelty to animals.

The shelter reunites lost animals with their owners and finds loving new homes for those no longer wanted. They cover the whole of the North East from their two shelters within Newcastle - Claremont Road and Benton North Farm. We got our George and Marley from the shelter, so this charity will always have a special place in our hearts.

The route will take me and John 13.1 miles, starting on the Central Motorway in Newcastle and ending at the beach in South Shields. Any donation given through this fundraising page goes directly to the shelter, so they can benefit from your kindness straight away!

Thank you for your support!

Love,

Denise & John
