The Cure CJD campaign has been set up by a group of individuals, personally affected by the disease, to support the work of researchers & doctors at the MRC Prion Unit at UCL and NHS National Prion Clinic at UCLH. We are a fund within UCLH Charity.

Story

In August 2016, our Nanna was taken into hospital and after months of different tests was diagnosed with Sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). Our Christmas was incredibly difficult that year as a few days before on 22 December, she passed away.

Very little is known about this horrific illness that took our Nanna months before she even died, and there is currently no cure but every day scientists and doctors are getting closer to finding a treatment.

This year marks 3 years since our loss, and we would like to mark this anniversary by taking part in the 5K Santa Run, together as 6 cousins.

It will take place Sunday 8 December, 11am at Victoria Park London.

By donating you will be helping the University College London Hospitals Charity's 'Cure CJD' Campaign find a cure to this horrible disease.

No amount is too large or too small and we will be grateful for any donations!

Thanks for reading our story and for any donations and we would love to see you all there to support, and remember our Nanna in December.

Love

Harry, Ellie, Holly, Amy, Luke and Emily
