Story

On May 25th, Cazz Lander and Andre Van der Walt will be jumping back into an ocean rowing boat and rowing over 2000 miles non-stop and unsupported around Great Britain. Once we leave Tower Bridge we will not touch land for over two months as we circumnavigate Great Britain battling tides, weather, and challenging coastlines.

If you thought when Cazz rowed the Pacific was tough... this is going to be much tougher!

Only ten boats have ever completed this route, two of which were pairs. Both of those were male. We will be aiming to set the Guinness World Record for the fastest mixed pair.

We will be raising money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. All money raised from friends, family and supporters is going directly to charity. The cost of the row is being covered personally by us (Cazz & Andre) and our amazing corporate sponsors, ensuring we can raise as much money for The Royal Marsden as possible.

Why the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity?

In 2019 my step mum Charlotte was diagnosed with Lymphoma - a few months after getting her 5-years all clear. She spent the majority of 2019 as an in-patient at the Royal Marsden receiving life-saving treatment from the latest research. Prior to this, the Royal Marsden had been her workplace, where she worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for brain tumors. The Royal Marsden saved her life.

"The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer."
