OCD Action's vision is of a society where Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is better understood and diagnosed quickly, where appropriate treatment options are open and accessible, where support and information are readily available and where nobody feels ashamed to ask for help.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi my name is Mark and together with my eldest son Luke we are attempting the Jane Tomlinson 10km run in Sheffield on behalf of OCD Action. My youngest son and Luke's brother (who is 12) developed contamination OCD at the age of 10. It came on very suddenly and completely changed the person he was which of coarse affected the whole family. My youngest son found it very difficult to deal with to the point where he decided that it would be better if he was not here at all. This he confided in his elder brother who thankfully is also his best friend. To cut the story short 2016 was a very difficult year for the whole family but with hard work and persistence we now have  the support of our local NHS our son has combined CBT therapy with medication. Things are far from easy but there is a light at the end of our tunnel.

If you would like to know more or you have any questions please feel free to ask. This will be the first of many challenges for us, we are determined to raise as much as possible so OCD Action can continue to help as many people as possible. From first hand we know times can be tough but together we can help each other.
