Story
I am thrilled to announce that Macmillan Cancer Support will continue to be Hartford Care's Nominated Charity until the end of 2021.
Macmillan Cancer Support helps everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support. This is particularly important during these very challenging times.
Cancer touches so many of our lives so I know our staff will be keen to carry on raising as much money as possible, to make a difference.
Already, some fantastic fund-raising activities have brought in thousands of pounds for MCS and as a result, we are now over halfway towards our target of £20,000.
Those activities included the Longest Day Golf Challenge on 20th June 2019 when myself and three colleagues, Ian, Richard and Sam, completed 72 holes, 26 miles of walking and burned over 8,500 calories! We raised nearly £2500 from this challenge so thank you to everyone for your great generosity and support.
Our intrepid Tough Mudder team comprising Brand Director Jo, Regional Manager Nicky and Clinical Lead Maryanne successfully completed a very challenging course at Badminton, Gloucestershire, in August 2019.
Elsewhere, our staff at Hartford Care's head office and care homes have been involved in some spectacular fundraising challenges, for example, six members of staff from Springfield Nursing Home have successfully completed a 32 mile relay around the Isle of Wight.
Residents, their relations and staff at The Laurels and Pine Lodge held a buffet evening and a Christmas Fayre which together have raised over £1000 for MCS.
Staff and residents at Woodlands participated a two day, 50 mile Wheelchair Challenge through the New Forest. There have also been sky dives, fetes, charity care washes, head shaves and coffee mornings.
This has also included holding MCS Biggest Coffee Mornings in which the majority of our offices and care homes participated, raising vital funds for this amazing charity.
Obviously, our 2020 Coffee Mornings were held in a slightly different format due to Covid-19 but Woodlands House staged a coffee morning drive-through which proved a great success.
Despite the restrictions, our care homes raised a fantastic £763 from their coffee mornings.
We continue to actively raise awareness of the charity and provide much-needed support so please follow us during our journey!
If you would like to donate, all of us at the Hartford Care family will be most grateful for our generosity. (Once you donate, the money will be sent directly to the charity.)
Equally, you are welcome to join us at any of our upcoming fundraising events to meet our residents, staff and friends.
