We provide baby loss support services to families in and around Nottingham

Story

While walking around Highfields we came across a development for the Forever Stars Serenity Garden.

Forever Stars was founded in 2014 by Richard and Michelle Daniels following the devastating still birth of their much loved daughter Emily on 19th December 2013. Forever Stars gives support and care to bereaved parents and their families, helping them to move forward whilst embracing the memory of their baby. They have already raised funds to support the building and equipping of two purpose built bereavement suites in Nottingham and to provide resources and counselling for families.

In 2017 Forever Stars began planning for The Serenity Garden -a peaceful place to sit and reflect and an opportunity for families to permanently remember their baby with a fixed dedication on one of the sculptures in the garden. It is also hoped that the Serenity garden will be an asset to the wider community.

We wanted to raise the money for a bench with a plaque to be placed within the garden as our way of showing our support to local women & families in need at difficult times or just to offer a place to sit & reflect when times are tough. Any extra funds will go towards the bee friendly wildlife planting in the garden.

To raise funds for this good cause the 7 ladies within the Walk ‘n’ Talk subgroup at The Hive WI have challenged themselves to walk 6,118 miles over a period of 12 months (starting 1/2/21) That’s the equivalent distance for each of the 7 members to walk from Lands End to John O’Groats.
