Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

As many of you will know, my brother Stephen died of Motor Neurone Disease in 2016 aged just 34. He left behind a wife and two young sons. The work the Motor Neurone Disease Association does is amazing and the support they gave my brother and his family was vital. I continue to raise money for them so that they always have the resources to offer this support to other families in future.

So I seem to be doing a banger rally every year. Last year we went through 12 countries in mainland Europe and my best mate and co-pilot for this years journey, Reuben Baker, took it upon himself to partake in 'Challenge Reuben' and raised an impressive £1500. This saw him skinny dip in Lake Como, wear the worst clothes known to man for a day out in Luzern, Switzerland, wear a Newcastle shirt and shout 'Haway the lads' in a packed town square in Menaggio, Italy, eat a brussel sprout, get a foreign lady to speak Yorkshire and most impressively stand up in on stage at a comedy night and try to make the crowd laugh; something he has never managed to do in his day to day life.

So little did I know at the time, but this year is my turn. I dont quite understand how or why but I will be doing 'Challenge Stuart' on this years banger rally, which will take us from York to Inverness via Stirling and Lock Ness. We will be camping every night and have already secured a nice little 1.2 litre Vauxhall Agila which we will decorate accordingly. Please get your challenges ready and get them across to me or Reuben along with an amount to donate if I/we complete them.
