Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

A team from The Insurance Emporium is taking part in the Micklegate Run Soapbox Challenge and raising money for the excellent charity, Medical Detection Dogs. We’ll be pushing our very own soapbox racer down a six-metre ramp and over a variety of obstacles in hopes of getting the fastest time. If that’s not scary enough, we’ll be doing it in front of a crowd of 20,000 people!

Medical Detection Dogs trains canines to smell disease, creating a service that aids the fight against cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Their Bio-Detection Dogs are trained to detect the odour of diseases, such as cancer, in various samples. Meanwhile, Medical Alert Assistance Dogs are taught to sniff out minute changes in people’s odour, which are triggered by certain diseases, and warn them that they are about to experience a medical event.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
