Mend the Gap promotes the cause of education and reduces poverty to benefit the poorest and most isolated communities in Eastern Africa and the UK for the benefit of current and future generations. It achieves this by making bridges and creating links between people from different backgrounds.

Story

On Saturday 24th June at around 7am I'll be entering a cold  South Devon river to take part in the 6 KM 'Bantham Swoosh' swim (https://www.outdoorswimmingsociety.com/bantham-swoosh-swim/). This is a significant challenge for me having never done more than 2 KM in a pool and with very little outdoor swimming experience.

I'm hoping to raise around £1000 for the charity 'Mend the Gap' which I'll be working in conjunction with this July in Kenya. I'm traveling out with 18 students from, Clevedon School and our neighbouring school Gordano School, both based in North Somerset just outside Bristol in the UK.

We will be using all of the money raised to purchase resources (such as computers, sports equipment, school uniform &  additional staff) for our partner schools in the Kisii area, West Kenya.

ALL OF THE MONEY RAISE WILL GO DIRECTLY TOWARDS PURCHACING RESOURCES FOR THE KENYAN SCHOOLS.
