I have made this page in honour of my long term boyfriend and best friend Lyam Kirkham.

Just eight days after our eight year anniversary on 12th March 2014 he tragically passed away due to a fatal and spontaneous bleed on his brain caused by a high grade brain tumour. 

There is nothing in life that can prepare you for this type of loss and knowing that there was nothing I could do to help Lyam except  just be there for him was and still is absolutely heartbreaking. I sincerely hope that the money being raised can help others like Lyam and their loved ones. 

After initially finding out that Lyam had a brain tumour he pledged to shave his long hair for The Walton Neuroscience Fund - Home From Home Appeal and raised a significant amount of money. Since then Lyam and I often talked about how we would like to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity in the future, in the hopes that we could help others fighting the same battle. It only feels right to create a supporter group in his memory. 

Starting a supporter group with The Brain Tumour Charity means that I can direct the funds I raise to a specific area of their work once £10,000 has been raised. When I reach that goal the funds will be allocated to high grade brain tumour research in the hopes that they can find a better way to diagnose, treat and eventually cure this devastating disease.

I am not just raising funds as a one off, this is something I am dedicating myself to for the long term. If anyone would like to help in anyway to raise money in honour of Lyam please don't hesitate to get in touch.
