The Made With Love ❤️ Chicken Soup Run began at the beginning of Lockdown 2020 delivering delicious homemade chicken soup to a few elderly neighbours. 

Two weeks later we were delivering “Goody Bags” with home made Chicken Soup, a savoury dish, cake, fresh fruit salad and a challah bread to 20  alone, elderly, unwell, and isolating recipients in Essex. 

And….. it didn’t take long for the word to spread and we were up to 80. 

After lockdown finished, Loughton Synagogue and our Rabbi Yanky encouraged us to use their premises to continue. We have their full support, Rabbi Levi and Leah even make our delicious kneidlach. 

We now deliver 150 “Goody Bags” all over Essex and it grows each week, all prepared and cooked at Loughton synagogue by our amazing volunteers every Thursday even with children helping with some of packing, and then packed on a Friday before being delivered by our wonderful volunteer drivers, from Loughton, Chigwell and Wanstead and Woodford Shuls. 

Our delicious cakes are made by Sandra Waldman in Chigwell shul and sponsored by their members!! 

In Lockdown we delivered 20 very full “Goody Bags” each week to the Essex Ambulance Service so they good have some nutritious food while waiting for hours outside the hospitals 

Our recipients depend on our nutritious bags each week and it is a lifeline to them. Our drivers chat to them on the doorstep and help out when necessary. 

What started as an idea throughout Covid has made such a difference, it is now an institution in the area! 

All our amazing volunteers are putting on their trainers to walk 10k on the 24th October to raise 10k enabling us to continue this incredible initiative! 

80 year olds to 5 year olds are walking!
