Torquay Museum’s aim is to safeguard, collect and preserve objects relating to Torbay’s natural environment and cultural and historic heritage. To present them in an accessible and relevant form as a source of inspiration, enjoyment and learning for everyone.

Story

Welcome to The Mammoth Appeal for Torquay Museum donation page.

Torquay Museum has been inspiring people to explore and learn for over 170 years. We take care of Torbay’s heritage to enrich the lives of its residents. We collect, protect and preserve artefacts from Torbay’s rich past to inspire the generations of our future. There is no other organisation that can keep the 100,000 artefacts from Torbay in Torbay.  The museum actually houses 350,000 objects, from Britain’s oldest Human fossil to the only Agatha Christie gallery in the world.

We aim to transform the lives of the people in our community by providing learning opportunities that are accessible and meaningful.

Despite a large increase in visitors over the last five years we have experienced a decrease in income resulting from fewer legacy gifts. We are working hard to build a future where we stand on our own two feet. However sustainability takes time to come into fruition, in the meantime we need your help to see our exciting plans come into fruition.
